Established in 1968, the Case Western Reserve Journal of International Law (JIL) is one of the oldest and most prestigious international law journals in the world.
JIL is a central part of Case Western Reserve's international law program, which was ranked 11th best in the nation by U.S. News and World Report in 2012.
JIL publishes articles based on the major international conferences and expert meetings held each year at the School of Law, as well as student notes on a wide range of international issues. Recent symposium issues have included "The Role of Justice in Building Peace," Rebuilding Nation Building," "Torture and the War on Terror," "Lessons from the Saddam Trial," "Religion and Terrorism," and "To Prevent and Punish: Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the Negotiation of the Genocide Convention."
